Saint Louis Zoo Annual Report
Situation
The Saint Louis Zoo is recognized among the nation's top ten
best zoos along with the San Diego Zoological Park and the Disney
Animal Kingdom. One of St. Louis' crown jewels, the Zoo ranks
number five on the Travel and Leisure list of most animal
friendly wildlife parks. As one of America's leading zoos with
nearly 3 million visitors last year and the most visited
destination for local residents in 2009, The Saint Louis Zoo was
seeking to strengthen its donor cultivation with a unique approach
for its report to the community in 2010.
Goal
Create a unique showcase for the Annual Report, reflecting good
stewardship of resources and using compelling themes to tell the
story of the staff and administration's commitment to the Zoo and
the conservation of species worldwide.
Strategy
Design a Report with captivating images and stories of children
and families and zoo animals. Focus on the remarkable fundraising
achievements despite challenging economic conditions.
Impact
A 66-page bound Report to the Community, titled Human's
Welcome, provided a fresh look and educated donors about the
Zoo's mission and achievements.
